Little Red Riding Hood Revisited

Posted by shirleyanderson at 11:52 AM on July 28, 2008

Do you remember the story about Little Red Riding Hood?  In case you've forgotten, I'll refresh your memory.

A little girl in red skips through the forest with a get well care package for her grandma.  En route, she runs into a few scaredy-pigs who've had some run ins with a bully wolf.  After dealing with the swine (a woman's work is never done), Red finally gets to grandma's house, finds out she's been eaten by a wolf, and then a hero saves the day.

Okay, now that it's all coming back to you, read the new, amusing version of this favourite classic.  It's entitled, The Red Monologue, and it's written by an amazing playwrite who goes by the name of ProCW.

ProCW offers his talent to a variety of sites and venues, and allows educators to use his works in the classroom.  This is great news for the young students who get to learn in a way that is fun and memorable.

Give The Red Monologue a read, the satire will reward you with a chuckle.  While you're there, look for the passage where the author has immortalized my son and I.

"Next I saw Ms. Shirley and 'er son, even farther down the path."

If you enjoy ProCW's story, please leave him a comment and let him know.
